 I chose methane hydrates as my “object of concern’ because they are a promising source of future renewable energy but they have a long way to come in terms of actually being utilized as an alternative energy. I situated this object in Japan and the US, because these two countries are on the forefront of methane hydrate research as a result of economic advantage and technological infrastructure. This project examined on experimentation, education, economic, geological, cultural and ethical dimensions of methane hydrate energy potential and implementation.
